25 Datestamp

Type 25 A framed circle, 28.5 mm in diameter, with 'BRISBANE' around the top, 'QUEENSLAND' around the foot and no bars or spaces between them; the date is in one line in the centre; first is the time, followed by the month in two letters and lastly the year in 2 figures. It is extremely rare with only a handful of examples seen - 3 by Campbell dated 27 May 1908, 29 May 1909 and 19 February 1912 and 1 by Wytenburg dated 3 July 1906
  • Type 25 (3 July 1906 - 19 February 1912) rated 5R - $60 on stamp, $100 on cover
There are several different one line in the centre Brisbane datestamps. To assist in distinguishing them see my page HERE

Brisbane Datestamp type 25 at left and type 27 at right. Type 25 is 28.5 mm in diameter and type 27 is type 25 mm in diameter and this is the easiest way to tell them apart. They can also be told apart by type 25 not having a dash in time (eg) 530p and type 27 having one (eg 6 -15p)

1906
