Type 5a - An unframed circle 24 mm in diameter, with 'BRISBANE' round the top, 'QUEENSLAND' at the foot separated by two small curved bars at each side. The date is in two lines in the centre; month and day in the first line, year in two figures in the second line and a code italic lower case letter at the top. Not listed by Campbell. The dates range from 7 September 1870 - 9 June 1871 and italic letter codes a and d are known. Rated 5R

Type 10 A continuous roller type, with each impression of 'GPO' letters 4 mm high and 11 mm in width, separated by 6 unbroken lines or bars. Only one dated example has been seen by me, dated June 1868. Listed by Campbell but no example or illustration shown by him or Wytenburg. Rated 5R

Only seen on Chalons and most examples are partial cancels and look similar to these. On the left seen at Ebay and on the right seen in the H L White collection, State Library of NSW

Type 12 A continuous roller type, with each impression of 'GPO' letters 6 mm high, separated by 4 unbroken lines or bars that are 20 mm wide. Mainly used on newspaper wrappers and parcels as well as on large Chalons. It is known with differently shaped letters, strongly suggesting that more than one implement was in use.

Examples are known used from the mid-1890s to about 1905 but these dates may be incomplete as very few examples have dates associated with them. Best collected on wrappers or multiples showing the continuous roller impression. Rated 3R

• GPO Obliterator type 12 (mid-1890s - circa 1905) rated 3R

There are three types of continuous rollers. Type 10 (not shown here and found only on Chalons has 6 lines), type 11 has 5 lines with letters 5 mm high and type 12 has 4 lines with letters 6 mm high. The shapes of the letters varies according to the subtype. The elongated 'P' is found in both types 11 and 12

Type 11 A continuous roller type, with each impression of 'GPO' letters 5 mm high, separated by 5 unbroken lines or bars 20 mm wide. Mainly used on newspaper wrappers, parcels and Large Chalons (probably for payment of bulk postage). There are also several examples known on 5s Chalons thay may or may not be genuine - perhaps also for payment of bulk postage? It is known with both thinner and thicker lines as well as differently shaped letters, strongly suggesting that more than one implement was in use.

Examples are known used from 20 July 1867 to 26 November 1903 but these dates may be incomplete as very few examples have dates associated with them. Best collected on wrappers or multiples showing the continuous roller impression. Rated common
