NSW Era

This covers the period from 1841 to 1860 when New South Wales (NSW) stamps and cancellers were used. Queensland was proclaimed a separate colony on 1 December 1859 but the Brisbane NSW canceller continued to be used until April 1860 and NSW stamps continued to be used until they were replaced by Queensland stamps in November 1860. For more information on the separation of Queensland from New South Wales from a postal perspective see this page
