Type 15 A framed circle, 25.5 mm in diameter, with 'BRISBANE' around the top, 'QUEENSLAND' around the foot; the date is in one line (year in 2 figures) in the centre preceded by a code made up of a letter and an asterisk. The codes fall into two groups
- Type 15a - letter followed by an asterisk
- Type 15b - asterisk followed by a letter
The letters are time codes and it is possible that type 15a represents A.M and type 15b is P.M. It was usually used on departure mail. Dates seen range from 20 December 1884 to 24 June 1905. Code letters are

- Type 15b - M, O, P, S, T, V, W, Y, Z

This was the first Brisbane date stamp type to be fitted with a revolving date-line, with the letters and asterisks also on revolving drums. Most examples don't show the full date and often the Code letter is indistinct or unclear. Clear copies with full dates command a premium. Rated Common - 5R.
